This 2-day suturing camp for midwifery educators strengthens suturing knowledge and skills and explores new ways of teaching these skills.

About this Event

This in-person Midwifery Suturing Camp for Educators combines focused learning with good food and lots of discussion in a stellar setting on the rocky coast of Maine.

ACNM specialty credit available: ACNM Program #2024-00EA.

THIS CAMP IS FOR EDUCATORS ONLY; if you are not an educator, please join one of our other workshops.

The Midwife Suturing Camp for Educators builds on existing teaching experience and offers time for learning, skill refinement, connecting with other participants, and rest and reflection. Session content is designed to expand each participant’s suturing skills, explore new ways (and whys!) of teaching laceration assessment and repair, and a forum to discuss the challenges of teaching this critical skill set. The schedule allows participants to refine their technical and creative skills for performing and teaching assessment and approximation of tissues.

This workshop is limited to 12 participants. There is room for 6 participants to stay on-site. The core workshop runs from 9 am-5 pm on Friday & Saturday.

Midwives may stay on site or commute from the nearby Boothbay Harbor Region. All participants are welcomed Thursday evening for a casual get together. Accommodations with On-Site Tickets are provided in a lovely rustic summer home. There are 4 private rooms and 1 double room all with shared baths. Rooms are reserved exclusively for Retreat Participants. Departure is Sunday morning (3-nights).

*******************************************

The Midwife Camp for educators begins with a Welcome Gathering Thursday evening and participants are welcome to stay until Sunday morning.
