The Ghost Trap Rodeo Tournament Series is coming to Boca Grande!
It's just like your favorite inshore fishing tourney, but instead of snook and redfish, after your 4-hour search, we'll be weighing in collected derelict crab traps, plastics and other forms of marine debris. It's all for a great cause - and with amazing industry prizes for top collectors at each tournament event - let the friendly competition begin! Put together a team and bring your boat or come and help us clean up the shoreline!
The Ghost Trap Rodeo Tournament Series is dedicated to improving and maintaining the health of Florida's sensitive marine environments for the longevity of our shallow water fishery. Since we began in 2018, thousands of volunteers have helped to remove 436,097 lbs of marine debris, including 4,732 abandoned or derelict traps from the coastal waterways of Florida and the Caribbean, while releasing thousands of marine species back to the water.
**This event occurs during the CLOSED fishing season and is FWC permitted - pinfish traps will not be removed from the water.
