About this Event

The 1st weekend of the 2025 Short Play Festival presents 6 short plays at 7PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and a 2PM matinee on Sunday, from June 19 to June 22 --"The Meadow"/Ryan Kaminski/Flemington, NJ; "Gram Scams"/Cary Pepper/San Francisco, CA; "Nothing Got"/Straton Rushing/Phoenix, AZ; "Lord Goose"/Maury Zeff/San Francisco, CA; "Riding Lessons"/Brett Hursey/Farmville, VA; "The Boat Man"/Bruce Bonafede/Palm Springs, CA.

  • The Meadow. A woman hires a private investigator, but all is not what it seems...
  • Gram Scams. What loving grandma could resist a phone call from her grandson, who says he's been in an accident and needs $15,000 to pay hospital bills and get his car fixed? Perhaps one who’s a little more savvy and up-to-date than most people would think.
  • Nothing Got. Alex and Graham hate Samuel Beckett's plays, but that didn't stop them from accepting the roles of Vladamir and Estragon in a professional production of Waiting for Godot. But then they get to talking, finally really talking, then it gets weird,
  • Lord Goose. When Humpty finally falls off that wall, Little Bo Peep's sheep going missing yet again, and that evil Mary keeps bringing her lamb anywhere she darned well likes, the nursery rhyme universe-dwellers begin to wonder if those rumors about a cruel, despotic goose ruling their world might actually be true.
  • Riding Lessons. A man enters carrying a clown on his back. Things only get stranger from there.
  • The Boat Man. A man meets his death. Then he meets the Boat Man. With dry humor and unexpected warmth, this short play offers a comic vision of the process of entering eternity, and has a surprisingly hopeful conclusion.
