The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is offering Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training December 15th - December 19th - Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will provide updated information to officers in Cuyahoga County on engaging and communicating with people in crisis.

As part of the ADAMHS Board's initiative to expand CIT training in the county, each police department will receive reimbursement in the amount of $150 per officer, per day to help remove financial barriers to training. Officers must complete the full 40-hour training for their department to receive reimbursement. Upon completion of the training, officers will receive a certificate of attendance.

The training will cover: Review of Mental Illness & Substance Use Disorder, Use of the Emergency Certificate (i.e. Pink Slip), Overview of the new Cuyahoga County Diversion Center, De-escalation strategies, Verbal Judo, Scenario Based Activities, and much more.
