Over the course of three evenings we will capture sunsets, pinpoint stars, and the Milky Way Galaxy.This course begins with an online lecture where you'll learn the fundamentals of night sky photography, including camera settings, long exposure techniques, noise management and managing dynamic range. Then we will meet at Canyonlands National Park for three days of photography. During the days we will meet for editing sessions so we can create the best end result image.What You’ll Learn:Landscape techniques including focus control, diffraction, and hyperfocal calculationsControlling dynamic range and noise productionColor editing and management, including custom color profiles, white balance, and saturation techniquesPhotographing the Milky Way Galaxy, pinpoint stars, and star trails‍Required Equipment and Accessories :DSLR or mirrorless camera with ISO range to at least 6,400 and shutter speeds to at least 30 secsWide angle lens with a aperture of f/4 or larger and a full frame equivalent of 14 - 35 mmA sturdy tripodIntervalometer, wireless remote or shutter release cord (Recommended)Extra batteriesHeadlamp with a red filterSmall flashlightLaptop for editing sessions (recommended)Recommended Items:Warm clothes - Layers (as the night gets later it does get cooler)Gloves and hatHiking BootsSnacks and beveragesCamping chair or any portable seat.
