- **Event Description**: Autism Outdoors Utah Moab Parent Retreat is a weekend for parents and caregivers of autistic individuals to step outside daily routines and connect in nature. Join us in Moab for guided rafting, hiking excursions, restorative meditation and yoga, friendly conversations, practical resources, and unhurried time to breathe under open skies.

Hosted by Sage Canyon Autism Foundation, this retreat centers our mission of education, support, and advocacy. You’ll share experiences with other parents, get a break from your routine, and hopefully find connections you can carry home.

This event includes a two-night stay at the beautiful Sunflower Hill Inn in Moab. Guests will have the opportunity for guided rafting on the Colorado River, hiking the Grandstaff Canyon Trail, morning meditation and yoga, and time to rest, relax, and connect with other autism parents. 

Sunflower Hill Inn is unique in that it supports the Heron School, a small private school for autistic students located in Moab, UT. 

In addition to the two-night stay, we provide meals on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday morning. While it is completely up to participants which (if any) of the outdoor activities in which they take part, this retreat is designed with an active/outdoor theme in mind. 

Payment is due in full at the time of registration and $50 of that amount serves as a nonrefundable deposit. If you cancel at any time before July 1st 2026, you will be refunded $100. If you cancel on or after July 1st 2026, you will not receive any refunded amount. This is a high-demand event that we have a lengthy waiting list. We ask that you notify our organization as soon as possible if you need to cancel so that we can fill your spot.
