In support of World Drowning Prevention Day – 25 July

We are challenging all schools, businesses, and members of the public to stand with us on 24 July by wearing BLUE and helping raise awareness for World Drowning Prevention Day (25 July).

Today, we had the privilege of visiting Reddam House, where learners showed incredible enthusiasm for joining this life-saving cause.

These funds will help us continue providing free swimming lessons to Grade 4 learners in Lavender Hill and Steenberg, aligning with the Life Orientation Water Safety curriculum. Our goal is simple but urgent:

� Give every child the opportunity to learn to swim
� Build water confidence and survival skills
� Prevent drowning before it happens

Because the reality is heartbreaking:

Drowning is a silent killer
It is the 4th leading cause of death for children aged 1–4 years
And the 3rd leading cause of death for children aged 5–14 years
92% of drowning deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries

This is not just a statistic; it is preventable.

We believe that anyone can drown, and no one should.
