Holy Spirit Parish will once again join other area churches this summer in a drive to collect new packages of underwear and socks for children ages 4-12 in our community. The collection continues through Sunday, July 20. Look for a plastic bin with a colorful sign outside the door to the church office and another in the parish hall. 

The Gary Turbak Memorial Back to School Clothing Project has been held at St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1987. Social service agencies in Missoula refer families in the valley with children ages 4-12 who might otherwise not be able to start the upcoming school year with brand new clothes! Parents bring their children to the church basement and each child gets to shop and try on an outfit to wear that all-important first day of school. (Can any of you remember carefully planning and laying out what your perfect outfit would be?)

Last year, almost 400 children each received a pair of jeans, two tops, a package of socks and one of underwear, plus a pair of new shoes! St. Paul uses funds from grants and monetary donations to purchase the tops, jeans and shoes. Area churches, like Holy Spirit, donate the new packages of socks and underwear. Please be generous! Thank you.
