So who is Slow Spokes and what do they do? They are “a Missoula based bikepacking community for trans, non-binary, gender-expansive, and women riders offering inclusive events, resources and a gear library”. They will be giving a basic overview of their programming and services and will talk about their two favorite beginner routes. One more backcountry-feeling in the Rattlesnake on dirt roads and one more frontcountry-feeling down the Bitterroot Trail. Come see what they’re all about, you just may want to join in on one of their excursions!

Local day trip bike rides:  
Carol will share with us her experiences last year on two somewhat local day trips. First, the Route of the Hiawatha west of town near Lookout Pass. This is an old rails to trails path that can be done all downhill with the family, complete with trestles and tunnels. Next will be the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park, focusing on how to best do this before there are cars on the road. Both of these rides take some logistics planning and she’s hoping to help you wade through some of the details she had to figure out last year.  
Sally will lead us down the Road to the Buffalo, another rails to trails ride.  WBM is planning to lead a ride possibly on the section near the Whitaker Bridge on Johnsrud Park Road later this year.  An ancient trail used originally by indigenous tribes to reach buffalo hunting areas and was also used by Meriwether Lewis on a return trip to St. Louis.
