Race-based inequities continue to influence who can access, control, and manage natural spaces, and whose knowledge is recognised and valued. Canada is a multi-racial society, but access to nature does not reflect that.Childhood access shapes how people relate to nature for life. About a third of children and youth in Canada are racialised, Black, Indigenous, or first- or second-generation immigrants; in Toronto, roughly half.
