In this three hour workshop we will be discussing how to understand and cope with negative emotions. If you are human, chances are you've experienced low mood or negative emotions but it's important to learn how to cope with these feelings in a productive and efficient manner. This will allow you to overcome rather than be consumed.
We will be discussing depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention from an evidence based medical approach within an Islamic context. But it's important to remember that removing negatives does not automatically bring about the positives. It is important to actively cultivate joy, fulfillment, and resiliency so that you can still find meaning and purpose in spite of the challenges you face.
This event is open to all ages as well as both men and women are welcome. We highly encourage that you attend as a family to bring about a healthier approach to dealing with emotional hurts, not just physical ones.
