- **Event Name**: ISA Spring Classic and Muscle Up Olympics
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 26 Apr, 2026 at 08:00 am – Mon, 27 Apr, 2026 at 06:00 pm (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: We are excited to be back again for year 2 ! Participate in one or both days of competition and come witness the calisthenics community!About this EventParticipants do not have to partake in all events but they are automatically signed up to all three categories once registered for day 1 and their respective designation (beginner, intermediate or advanced) for day 2. For example, if you sign up for any day 2 category and you happen to have an injury or another consideration where you cannot do push ups hypothetically, you will communicate this to the judges and may still partake, however, you will not be eligible to receive the overall awards without attempting all the events in the category. You must include your current weight or weight you believe you’ll be competing at so we may place you in the right category. All competitors will have to weigh in on the day of competition. First, second and third places will be available for all categories and all in all weight classes in all events. For day two competitors you can win overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for your weight class and category as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all movements e.g. – you can win 2nd place overall male beginner category -70kg AS WELL AS 1st place -70kg male pull ups, 2nd place under 70kg male squats etc. There are an insane number of awards to win! We wanted to bring you as many chances to podium as possible for both days. Weight classes are as follows for men and women: Male: Under 154lbs (70kg) Under 176lbs (80kg) Over 176lbs (80kg) Female: Open weight class Overall categories include: Male Female Masters male (40yrs+) – OPEN no weight class Masters female (40yrs+) – OPEN no weight classDAY 1 – MUSCLE UP OLYMPICSWelcome to the muscle up Olympics! This muscle up competition will test your muscle up prowess on three different metrics: One repetition weighted maxes, weighted endurance or bodyweight endurance and precision endurance.Event 1 – 1RM Weighted Muscle ups Male & FemaleAthletes will begin the day with street lifting style muscle up one repetition maxes and will have three attempts (three lifts) to perform their maximum weighted repetition. Athletes will perform 1-2 at a time and be subject to the rules and regulations stipulated that follow closely with the rules of street lifting including the Canadian street lifting championships “Basic Instinct” competition and the internationally recognized “Final Rep” rule book. There will be slight differentiations, but we want to keep things as clean as possible while following international rules (e.g. no false grip entry, full lockout bottom of muscle ups, body not touching the bar during transition etc.)Event 2 – Female Endurance and Male weighted enduranceEvent number two will be bodyweight muscle up maximums for females and maximum 25lbs muscle ups for males. Both categories will be tested on maximum repetitions without a wall and judged based on form stipulations. No more than 3 second holds at top range of motion (ROM) and bottom ROM will be permitted.Event 3 – Open category precision (for males and females)This event will be open to both males and females to compete in and it will feature a 24” wall placed in front of participants to test their precision muscle up skills. All participants will be judged based on overall form and category rules which include but are not limited to: no touching of the wall with any body part or piece of clothing while repping, full ROM lockout at the top and bottom ranges and no more than a 3sec. break at the top or bottom ROMs.MYSTERY CATEGORY – Open for males and femalesWe can’t tell you what this one is. Good luck!DAY 2 – Reps and Sets EnduranceFollowing in the fashion of previous Spring Classic events, Day 2 will be focused around reps and sets endurance including weighted reps and sets as well. Athletes will determine which category to compete in based on an honour system that adheres to a few stipulations – the coaching team and organizers will be assessing each athlete individually to the best of their ability. Keep it honest guys and please message us if you have any doubts or questions concerning which category you should be in. Please feel free to text or call Mike Hannon – one of the main organizers at 416-455-0213 – he will get back to you within 24hrs and is likely teaching or doing muscle ups if he doesn’t respond immediately.Projected time frames and approximate event itinerary will be emailed to all participants closer to competition day when enrollment is known. We will NOT be taking same day registration; all athletes must sign up by the deadline of April 12th.-------Beginner Category and Guidelines*athletes will compete X2 at a time in individual categories – e.g. ALL athletes (male and female) will complete pull ups first in the beginner section, then ALL athletes will complete dips etc.*You are considered a beginner if a few or all of these apply to you. Thus, the main goal behind any individual journey at the Indomitable Spirit Academy is forging a spirit over time that is undeniably unbreakable in movement and in life.At ISA we specialize in Calisthenics coaching. Calisthenics, originating from the Greek words Kallos (beauty) and sthenos (strength) simply means beautiful strength and ultimately, full body control. We strive to master our own bodies in a variety of ways – strength, mobility, skills and movement expression based on your capabilities are all part of a full comprehensive Calisthenics program. Whether you’re chasing your first full push up, a pull up, a muscle up, a dragon pistol squat, full splits, full planche, handstand, a heavy AF dip or simply wanting to live and move better and safely within your own body, all of that can fall under the Calisthenics umbrella of movement."
