Listen to stories of how the Florida Manatee, Gentle Giants of the sea, sometimes need our help and learn what you can do to keep them safe.Samantha Olszak, a marine biologist and environmental specialist with Broward County, focuses on marine conservation and education for the new wave of environmental stewards!This event will feature a manatee themed Storytime, songs, crafts, and a visit from some prehistoric pals!The  of the  is dedicated to protecting Broward's beaches and coastal areas, which provide habitats for a variety of species including threatened or endangered corals, manatees, and sea turtles.To help sustain local beaches, coral reefs, and marine flora and fauna, the Marine Resources Section h​as developed and implemented programs related to natural and artificial reefs, manatee protection, mooring buoys, and sea turtle conservation. The Marine Resources Section also works closely with the ​Beach Renourishment Program.​​
