Content Advisory:
"Lend Me a Soprano" is a farce that employs significant innuendo and sexual entanglements for comedic effect that may not be appropriate for children and young teens. The show also explores drug and alcohol abuse, mistaken identity, and blackmail. Characters appear on stage in various stages of undress, including implied nudity (no character appears on stage entirely nude). Due to the content of the show, children's priced tickets are not available for this production.
Summary from Samuel French, a subsidiary of Concord Theatricals:
It's 1934, and the clever and combustible Lucille Wiley, Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is ready to welcome world-class soprano Elena Firenzi for her one-night-only starring role in Carmen. Alas, Elena arrives late, her impassioned husband Pasquale has a fit of jealousy, and it remains to be seen whether Mrs. Wiley’s mousy but determined assistant Jo can save the day.
