- **Event Description**: The Northwest Arts Center presents “Armour of God: The Art of Steve Prince.” The exhibition is on view January 8 through February 21, 2026 in the Walter Piehl Gallery.

Steve Prince is an educator, minister, and visual artist from Williamsburg, Virginia. Throughout his career he has completed many public works and has taught on various levels including middle and high school, community college, and 4-year private and public institutions nationally. He is currently the Director of Engagement and Distinguished Artist in Residence at the Muscarelle Museum of Art at William & Mary University.

“Armor of God” features large-scale relief prints that reference the Biblical scripture Ephesians 6:11. Prince reimagines the verse as a symbol of an omnipresent power and sacred protection for those who fight for the oppressed and disenfranchised. Prince states, “The exhibition is a reminder for us to collectively work for justice, peace, and equality, and know by faith we will be protected by the Armour of God.”

A public reception and online viewing with the artist is scheduled for Thursday, February 5 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Both exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. 

The Walter Piehl Gallery is located in the Northwest Arts Center on the lower level of the Gordon B. Olson Library, with its own entrance on the south side of the library. It is open TWThF, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 1-5 p.m. and by special arrangement. It is closed holidays.

This project is supported by Flat Tail Press, the Minot State University Cultural and Intellectual Engagement Council, the Looyenga Leadership Center, and in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
