📖 About The Vegan Creamery by Miyoko Schinner

From the author's website:
"A delectable collection of over 75 plant-based recipes for vegan butters, creams, cheeses, desserts, and more, from the award-winning chef and bestselling author of Artisan Vegan Cheese. Imagine enjoying a batch of fresh strawberry ice cream on a hot summer day. It tastes just as delicious as the beloved classic, but at its creamy core it's actually plant-based. Now you can make all the dairy products you love—milks, creams, cheeses, savory spreads, and rich desserts—with nuts, seeds, and other plant-based ingredients instead of animal products. Miyoko has become a leader in the evolution of plant-based dairy, and through her recipes and stunning photography you can learn how to craft beautiful vegan food for everyday life that will expand your palate and help save the planet."

🥣 This month's featured recipes
In the recipe club this month we will discuss these recipes:

🥛 Watermelon Seed Kernel Milk and Creamer — pg 54
🧈 Soft Spreadable Butter — pg 66
🧀 Fresh Watermelon Seed Kernel Mozzarella — pg 115–117

optional:
🍨 Sweet Whipping Cream and Topping — pg 60
🍦 Watermelon Seed Kernel Milk Ice Creams — pg 176–178
🍪 No-Waste Chocolate Chip Cookies — pg 195
🧈 Baking and Culinary Butter (82% Fat) — pg 70

*Ingredient tip: Watermelon seed kernels can be hard to find locally. Henry suggests checking Amazon for watermelon seed kernels or melon seeds (char magaz), or looking for ground melon seed ("egusi") at a local international grocery store.

🍲 Where is the potluck?
This October is one of the few yearly potlucks held by the Club! The potluck will be at:
Ste. 108, 34 13th Ave. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413.

You can bring a dish from the Vegan Recipe Club Archives (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17iOrFCvL1SSihx_AjAgDdHVWEZABsTbV), from any online sources, or from your own kitchen! All dishes should be vegan — no meat, dairy, egg, honey, or any other animal-derived product (no gelatin, whey, etc). Please bring a list of ingredients so that everyone with allergies, Celiac, etc, can safely eat.

If you cannot make it in person, you are welcome to join online for recipe discussion only.
