Designed by local fiber artist, Alla Hale, these mittens are knit in locally grown and milled Icelandic yarn from Badgerface Fiber in Northfield, MN.The stitch patterns are inspired by traditional Norwegian sweaters, and the finishes inspired by Latvian and Norwegian mitten designs. Together, we will work through the Latvian Braid cast on, and then we will learn how to hold yarn in both hands for two-color colorwork.In the three-hour class you can expect to have completed the decorative cuff of one mitten. You will leave with all the knowledge and materials to finish your own pair of beautiful mittens.MaterialsFor the mitten class, students should have the following materials:1.
