Ed will share his unusual journey breaking into the industry, coming from Iowa to Los Angeles then to Minneapolis, still working remotely with LA studios like Warner Bros. He’ll then talk about his storyboarding process on a series, and how that process can differ from show to show. As always, there’ll be free pizza and drinks!A little more about our speaker:Ed Baker grew up in Des Moines Iowa in the 1970's, with great access to monster movies, comics, and very early cable tv. My mother and grandmother were fine artists (painters) while I wanted to be a cartoonist. After graduating, his first animation job was at Warner Brothers doing layouts on Tiny Toon Adventures and then doing board revisions on Animaniacs. After then moving to Minneapolis in 1994, he bought a house, welcomed two daughters, managed a couple Emmys for storyboards, and continues to board for television shows in Los Angeles, New York and Canada.Schedule6:00 - Hello! ? A little further out, about a 10-15 min walk are the ABC Ramps, which can be a bit cheaper and are easy to get to. The building is also conveniently right off the Hennepin Goverment Plaza Light Rail Station, if you are taking public transit.Once you are inside, look for the first floor conference rooms. We will hopefully be able to put signs up directing you to the Nice Moves meetup, but there will also be board members there to guide you.
