In 1999, the band helped launch the inaugural Twin Cities Jazz Festival, opening the event and backing guitarist Eric Essix, a Berklee-era friend of Ronny’s. When rain washed out the main stage, an impromptu after-hours jam at The Red Sea was captured live and released as a hit CD.After a hiatus beginning in 2002 as Ronny focused on family, the band has returned nearly three decades later with renewed fire. Blending original members with fresh talent, the Ronny Loew Band delivers high-energy funk jazz that fuses jazz, funk, soul, R&B, and rock, mixing originals with bold takes on timeless classics.
