For Cedar-presented shows, online ticket sales typically end one hour before the door time, and then, based on availability, tickets will be available at the door.

Join in once again on the Twin Cities long-standing experimental tradition, Noise Party. Volume 11 features six more artists from the fields of ambient, drone, noise, and experimental styles of music. Come and let these artists take you on a musical journey, weaving in and out from improvisational and rehearsed sonic situations against a large video wall of abstract visual art. Don’t expect to know every artist and every song, but to embrace the unfamiliarity of something new and exciting.

Whether to ignite a new musical passion or relax in a soothing sound bath to escape the summer sun, Noise Party promises to offer you the best in new, heavily curated musical experiences. On July 20th, back at The Cedar Cultural Center, abel., Áit Ait, Data Birth, Electric Life Forms, Liars' Conspiracy, and Sun Patches, will be guiding you through this new journey through Noise Party.

A Minneapolis house head, abel has been a mainstay in the Minneapolis electronic scene. A self proclaimed chaotic creative, abel blends his love for emotive synths and his background in percussive and rhythmic music makes for an interesting marriage of grooves and experimentation.

Áit Ait

(Irish for “strange place” or “uncanny valley”) are an experimental folk duo focused on reinterpretations of traditional songs – dark and deep, bright and sparkling; full of noise and life. Based in Minnesota, Áit Ait (pronounced “ahh-tch eye-tch”) is Aja McCullough (song) and Patrick Maun (sound). The two set out to explore the living tradition that is Irish folk music – ever evolving and always changing, a solid footing set in the past but looking towards the future.

Data Birth is the solo project of Jake Heaney. Using synths, tape machines and samplers to take deep dives into sonic caverns, shifting tectonic forces at play. Data Birth conjures light from subterranean murk, and novelty from the familiar.

Sawtooth Witch (fka Theyself) is a genre bending artist that mixes acoustic fingerstyle harmonies with electronic inspired dance beats.
The result is a melting pot of indie rock, Pop, R&B, house and blues with introspective, mantra-like lyrics.
Sawtooth Witch has toured the country for years as independent musicians, and their infectious live show and innovative approach to production have earned them a diverse and loyal audience.

With Sun Patches, Paul Nevins is focused on the art of sonic architecture, creating soundscapes that resemble rooms filled with color schemes and light fixtures uniquely placed to perfectly decorate each space, and illuminate only what needs to be brought to the surface. This musical architecture has never been more evident than in his latest releases "To The Sea" and “Nightstand”. Pieces like “Sidewheel”, “Back Home”, “Spirit Box” or “Almost Over” are able to instantly replace your current experience for a sonic background that elevates your senses and calms any anxious thought.
