This event highlights Minneapolis’ International Sister Cities, with a special spotlight this year on the anniversaries of Ibaraki City, Japan (45 years), Eldoret, Kenya (25 years) and Uppsala, Sweden (25 years).

2025 Sister Cities Day - Performance Lineup:

1 p.m. – The Mighty Drumming Club – Taiko Arts Midwest

2 p.m. – Official remarks to recognize anniversaries of three Sister City relationships:
– Uppsala, Sweden – 25 years (Molly Wright Steenson, Honorary Consul of Sweden) 
– Eldoret, Kenya – 25 years (His Excellency, Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, Governor of Uasin Gishu County) 
– Ibaraki City, Japan – 45 years (Sei Shirotani, International Friendship Association of Ibaraki President)

2:20 p.m. – Rafiki USA Presented by International Leadership Institute (Eldoret, Kenya)

2:40 p.m. – Twin Cities Nyckelharpalag – Swedish Key Harp Ensemble - Presented by the Minneapolis Uppsala Friendship Committee – American Swedish Institute (Uppsala, Sweden)

3 p.m. – Raices de Chile - Presented by Minneapolis Santiago Sister Cities (Santiago, Chile)
