Named after a tart and aromatic lime native to the Philippines, the quartet is known for their bold and striking performances. Hailing from Illinois, Florida, and Pennsylvania, the quartet met during their first year of master’s studies. In Spring 2025, the quartet was awarded the position of the Kuttner String Quartet in Residence at the Jacobs School of Music. Primarily coached by members of the Pacifica Quartet, the Calamansi Quartet has participated in masterclasses with Robin Scott, Curtis Stewart, David Ying, and Li-Kuo Chang. Committed to community service, the quartet recently partnered with the Office of Wellness and Arts Health Initiatives (OWAHI) to perform concerts at the Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital. The Calamansi Quartet strives to combine the highest degree of musicianship with interpretive integrity.
