The Coliseum has been part of the Longfellow neighborhood for more than 100 years. It has been a shopping center, workplace, gathering place, home for artists and musicians, and community hub.

In 2020, it experienced three fires and was declared a total loss.

Instead of walking away, Redesign bought the building sight unseen and took on the challenge of bringing it back.

Four years later, the Coliseum reopened.

Today, it's home to businesses, nonprofits, artists, community organizations, and Redesign itself.

On the tour, we'll explore what happened, why this building mattered to the community, and what its restoration can teach us about community-driven development, ownership, affordability, and the long-term work of building a stronger neighborhood.
