Soprano singer Momoko Tanno and Joseph Hagedorn, lute and guitar, will treat us to a delightful evening of music by Dowland, Rodrigo, Villa-Lobos, Seiber, and more! It will be a delightful evening of music for a great cause. We hope to see you there! Joseph Hagedorn teaches Applied Guitar, Class Guitar and directs the Guitar Ensemble at UW-River Falls. Since his career was launched by winning the 1990 Guitar Foundation of America solo competition, Joseph has maintained an active performing career as a soloist and chamber musician. Praised for his passionate performances and flawless technique as well as his varied programs — on guitar and Renaissance lute — Joseph’s solo and concerto appearances have taken him to more than 25 American cities and to Canada. In 1995 he was awarded the Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowship and is now a performing member and the Managing Director of the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet. www.minneapolisguitarquartet.com Momoko Tanno is a singer/actor/educator, who actively performs in the Twin Cities, nationally, and abroad. In April, 2024, she made her debut at Tacoma Opera as Cio-cio-san in Madama Butterfly and received standing ovations. Momoko was the recipient of IDEA (Inclusion Diversity Equity Artistry) Fellowship 2023-2024 and performed the title role of Florencia Grimaldi in Florencia en el Amazonas by Daniel Catan with the Opera Reading Project in May, 2024. She has performed in The Song Poet by Jocelyn Hagen and MNiature Opera, YR GOD MY GOD by Christian Bardin with The Minnesota Opera. Last summer she starred in The Pick Up Truck Opera Volume 1: Tale of the Odyssey by Mixed Precipitation singing songs by Monteverdi and Dolly Parton songs. Fridays in the Valley concerts are free and open to all. There will be a free will offering to benefit CEAP Meals on Wheels.
