Nothing inspires action quite like a good catastrophe. We’d like to think we use knowledge, wisdom, and a shared sense of humanity,to prepare, but time and time again we do not act until something truly awful happens. And even then, we are often slowed by a bombardment of lies and insincerity. In the climate world (and in almost all other spheres, hello!?!), these bizarre and disturbing forces create an uneven patchwork of readiness and vulnerability.
Join climatologist Kenny Blumenfeld for a program designed to inform you, prepare you for action, and possibly make you chuckle-weep into your nacho plate. Find out where we stand regarding true climatic extremes, meet someone who takes “fighting climate change” too literally, get a pep talk from a bewildered coach, and learn about action steps for troubled times.
As always, we will have open discussion and Q&A following the show. Come, learn, laugh, and be part of something. May contain a word or words typically not spoken in polite company.
