We will have special, limited-time merchandise for sale throughout the day, and are hosting fun events throughout the day.

All Day: 
-Free temporary tattoos from Litographs
-Twin Cities Independent Bookstores Passport: Visit each of the stores featured in our Independent Bookstore Day passport and request a stamp. Collect all 10 stamps, take a picture of your completed stamps page, and tweet it to @MidwestBooks to receive a $10 gift certificate from all 10 participating stores. Visit 5 or more stores and receive a free bookstore poster by Kevin Cannon. 

-11:00am-1:00pm:
Free Nespresso from Kitchen Window, doughnuts, and possibly even a raffle for a Nespresso machine!

-7:00pm: 
Reading with Michelle Leon from her memoir about Babes in Toyland

-PLUS: Enter our Independent Bookstore Day Writing Contest for a chance to win a $50 Magers & Quinn giftcard! 

We’re looking for essays, stories, and poems in celebration of all things independent bookstore-related. Contest closes end of day Wednesday, April 27, and our staff favorites will be on display in the store April 30th-May 14th. Our #1 favorite will win a $50 Magers & Quinn giftcard!

Submissions must be no longer than one page (8 ½ by 11).
Submissions deadline is end of the day Friday, April 22nd.
