As October’s Special Edition Death Cafe featuring a paranormal investigator is certainly one of the most fun Cafe’s of the year, November’s Special Edition Ancestral Potluck is one of the most special.
Each year we gather on the last Sunday of November to celebrate the food and people that helped shape us. Those attending are encouraged to prepare or bring a dish that was special or had some significance to a loved one who has passed, from their ancestral roots, or roots from a culture with which they resonate. From 6-7pm we will enjoy the food everyone has brought while sharing stories about the food and the person it’s associated with. A normal death cafe will follow from 7-8pm. You are not required to bring a dish and all are welcome.
Please note that our next standard Death Cafe will be in December.
What to Expect:
- Doors will open at 5:30pm.
- We will begin the potluck at 6pm.
- A normal Death Cafe will take place from 7-8pm
- You can join us for some or all of the event.

Ever think about what happens when you die? Ever wonder about mortality? How do you want to be buried? Or remembered? Are ghosts real?
The Death Cafe Twin Cities, now in it’s 8th year at the Rogue Buddha Gallery, is a monthly space for open, honest, and organic conversations about death, dying, life, and living. We bring together friends and strangers in a relaxed, safe, and welcoming atmosphere to discuss a topic we all have in common—mortality.
At our core, we're like most other Death Cafes: we gather in small groups and let the conversation flow naturally, with no agenda or predetermined direction. But we also love to think outside the box. We embrace innovative formats like cemetery walks, presentations from industry experts like morticians and paranormal investigators, and even a yearly ancestral potluck dinner around Thanksgiving.
While this event is not intended to be a grief support group, we realize that some attendees may in fact be in the process of grieving. And we know that everyone's journey with grief and acceptance is unique. That’s why we create a safe space for open dialogue, but there's never any pressure to share.
Please note that the discussions can be witty and humorous or quiet and more reverential, depending on how the conversation naturally evolves.
We encourage all attendees to come with an open mind and heart, ready to go wherever the conversation takes them. Our goal, as strange as it may sound, is to make this event as enjoyable and fun as possible for everyone.
