NYC-based singer-songwriter Nour Harkati and his band fuse the Guembri with electronics and an urban groove, offering a unique, layered, and kinetic sound.  Local musicians The Arab Band will open the show with unique interpretations of classic songs that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Arab music. Rooted in Gnawa rhythms and shaped by eight years in New York, his music is meditative, kinetic, and deeply groovy. The latest album, Moulena (December 2024), fuses The Guembri with NYC urban groove, electronics, and modern songcraft, exploring migration, memory, and belonging. It premiered on KEXP and was celebrated at Public Records in New York. Harkati has toured the U.S, performed at GlobalFEST, Celebrate Brooklyn, and Habibi Festival, a one-month residency at Pioneer Works, for a potential new album.
