Please join us for the 2020 SW Wisconsin Virtual Walk for Apraxia!
Due to CDC guidelines related to COVID-19 and social distancing, Apraxia Kids has made the decision that ALL 2020 Walk for Apraxia events will be Virtual Walks this year. The health and safety of our apraxia community is our top priority. While this year’s celebration may look a little different, our commitment to honoring Apraxia Stars across the country will never change!
Why do we walk?
The money raised through the Walk for Apraxia supports the programs of Apraxia Kids. Our mission is to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research. We would not be able to achieve our mission without the funds raised through the Walk for Apraxia.
Get connected to a community of support!
We may be walking from home, but we are never walking alone. The Walk brings together parents, family members, and professionals to fundraise for Apraxia Kids and connect virtually with one another. The Walk is about giving our Apraxia Stars and their families a space to be understood and supported. At the Walk for Apraxia, everyone “gets it”.
Celebrate your Apraxia Star!
The Walk for Apraxia celebrates the lives and hard work of our kids, our Apraxia Stars, who work so hard every day to overcome childhood apraxia of speech. Every Apraxia Star attending the Virtual Walk for Apraxia is recognized individually for their hard work. At the Walk for Apraxia, we celebrate together for our Apraxia Stars so they can feel the love and support of their friends, families, and community wherever they are.
Raise awareness of childhood apraxia of speech!
By joining the Walk for Apraxia and inviting others to support, you play an essential role in making sure every child with apraxia of speech can find the support they need. Every time you share about childhood apraxia of speech with someone new, you are creating a future where more children can find the care they need because apraxia is understood, not unknown.
