Im Jahr 2024 – im Alter von gerade einmal 17 Jahren – traf diese außergewöhnliche Saxophonistin auf den renommierten Bassisten Hervé Jeanne (ehemals Bassist für Roger Cicero, The Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices u.v.a.). Schnell stellten beide fest, dass sie eine gemeinsame Leidenschaft für die Musik der 2024 verstorbenen Saxophon-Legende David Sanborn teilen. So entstand spontan die Idee, ein Projekt ins Leben zu rufen, das dem Meister Tribut zollt. „The Sanborn Project“ war geboren – eine Formation aus fünf Musikern verschiedener Generationen, die gemeinsam das einzigartige musikalische Erbe von David Sanborn wieder aufleben lassen. Mittlerweile haben Leonora und ihre Bandkollegen die Herzen vieler Zuhörer erobert – sei es bei Live-Konzerten oder weltweit durch Videos im Internet. „Straight to the Heart“, der Titel eines legendären Albums von David Sanborn, ist gleichzeitig das Motto dieses Projekts. Wir freuen uns schon sehr auf einen Abend voller Energie, Emotionen und musikalischer Raffinesse, der – nicht nur – die größten Hits der Jazz-Funk-Ikone David Sanborn mit authentischen Interpretationen wieder zum Leben erwecken wird. Ein Programm, das sicher auch Erinnerungen an die 70er und 80er Jahre hervorrufen und die Nacht in eine mitreißende Party verwandeln wird.
