HAVANA : ¡Una noche de salsa latina inolvidable!

Für viele Ohren bis dahin unbekannte Rhythmen und Sounds eroberten Anfang der 1980er-Jahre die Musikszene der Landeshauptstadt Niedersachsens. Afro-kubanisches Feuer loderte plötzlich in den Konzertsälen, nachdem sich 13 hannoversche Musiker zu einem besonderen Latin-Ensemble formiert hatten!
Sie gaben sich den Namen HAVANA und wurden schon nach wenigen Monaten in ganz Deutschland zum Inbegriff für explosive Salsa.

Das Orchester um den Pianisten und Komponisten Kurt Klose machte bis heute in mehr als 1.200 Konzerten im In- und Ausland seinem Titel „Aushängeschild in Sachen scharfe Musik“ alle Ehre.
Am Samstag, 14. Februar, feiert HAVANA sein 45-jähriges Bestehen im Jazz Club Minden – mit einem Jubiläumsprogramm der Superlative.

HAVANA reißt alle Kanäle eines anspruchsvollen, supertanzbaren Salsa-Feuerwerks auf: Brodelnde Perkussion korrespondiert mit der fetzigen Bläser-Section und einem starken Fundament aus Bass, Piano und Gitarre. Darüber legen sich die Stimmen des exzellenten Vokaltrios.
Die Mixtur aus Mambo, Rumba, Chachacha, Bolero, Bomba, Plena und Latin-Soul wird auf bisher sieben Alben hautnah dokumentiert.

„Da war mehr Adrenalin drin, als man in ein paar aufgekratzten Nächten verbrauchen kann,“ beschrieb eine deutsche Tageszeitung ein HAVANA-Konzert.
Und „Vorsicht! HAVANA ist ansteckend“ titelte ein anderes Blatt.

Der hannoversche Bigband-Musiker Andy Gütte, einer der treuesten HAVANA-Fans, erinnert sich mit Begeisterung an die ersten Auftritte des Orchesters: „Diese Musik hatte ich vorher nie gehört.
Die Mischung aus Perkussion, messerscharfen Bläsersätzen, Gesang und den typischen Piano-Montunos fasziniert mich noch heute. Nach wie vor genieße ich die Titel der LP ,HAVANA Live‘ von 1985, in denen die Interpreten mit großartigen solistischen Beiträgen brillierten. Heute ist HAVANA eine lebende Legende!“
