Like so many families, I was left trying to make sense of something that never should have happened.

I picked up a camera to heal and found my way back to what I've always done best—sharing stories that help people feel seen.

Last year, I launched UNBROKEN, a portrait and storytelling project created to honor lives lost to overdose, support those left behind, and remind people that hope and healing are still possible.

I'm honored to announce the next stop: free to the public.

During National Recovery Month, we'll gather for an evening of portraits, storytelling, connection, and community.

Guests are invited to walk through the gallery, experience powerful stories from individuals and families impacted by overdose, spend time in conversation, connect with others who understand, and simply be present.

Some stories come from parents who have lost children.
Some come from individuals impacted by overdose loss.

Others come from siblings, spouses, friends, and family members navigating grief. 

Each story is different, but together they remind us that we are not alone.

For those who feel moved to participate, we'll also be photographing portraits and collecting stories that will help shape the first public UNBROKEN mural—a large-scale community art installation honoring lives lost, celebrating recovery, and sharing hope with others who may still be struggling.

I'm grateful to once again collaborate with Jeremiah Martinez (@butterwiththeshutter), whose partnership helped make our first Wisconsin gallery such a meaningful experience.

This isn't about statistics.

It's about people.
The people we lost.
The people still here.

And the people who need hope today.
