About the event

ECOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE & DIVERSITY OF DE BATS (Followed by Q&A)
Prime Hook NWR Multipurpose Room

Tonyea Meade, President-Elect of the Delaware Council of Wildlife Rehabilitators and Educators Association, will share fascinating insights into the bat species found in Delaware, dispel common myths, and highlight their unique features, diets, and habitats. She will also address safety concerns—such as what to do if a bat enters your home—and explain White-Nose Syndrome, a devastating disease impacting bat populations.

Her presentation will include tips on how to attract these beneficial creatures to your yard. While no live bats will be present, a variety of hands-on materials will be available for viewing.
