Blooming Bold Blossoms - A Spring Watercolor Workshop

This workshop invites participants to work from a variety of blooms and photographic references as Annelein guides them in using the full range of their colorful palettes. Students will be encouraged to create wet, spontaneous imagery while exploring key elements of design such as size, shape, value, color, line, and texture. The technique of negative painting will be introduced to help develop foliage and create strong contrasting shapes, with special attention to the role of value and color. The day will begin with a demonstration and discussion of pigments and materials, followed by painting time in the morning and a brief additional demo after lunch. In the afternoon, participants will receive individual guidance as they continue their work, and the workshop will conclude with a show-and-tell to share everyone’s creations.

This workshop is recommended for people ages 18+ whom already have experience using watercolor.
