Your West Highland Way Adventure
Our West Highland Way Walking Holiday is designed for people who want the freedom and achievement of completing this incredible trail without having to organise all the complicated logistics themselves.

Your adventure is self-guided, meaning you are free to walk at your own pace and enjoy the trail your way, or stick with a team member. The choice is yours!

Want to walk quietly and take in the scenery? Want to stop for photographs? Want to push yourself and get to the next destination early? Or want to walk alongside some of the other people on the trip?

It’s completely up to you.

You’ll have detailed route information and support throughout the trip, while our trained team will also be out on the trail. If you’d like some company, you can choose to walk with one of our team members or other walkers in the group.

With four highly trained team members supporting the trip, you’ll never feel like you’re completely on your own.

What Makes This Trip Different?
Walk Your Way
You aren’t tied to a rigid group walking pace. The route is yours to experience at a pace that feels right for you, with the reassurance that our team is nearby and available throughout the trip.

Walk Without the Heavy Load
Your main luggage will be transferred between accommodation, meaning you only need to carry the essentials you need for the day’s walk.

Less weight. More freedom. More enjoyment.

A Week Away From Everyday Life
The West Highland Way gives you something that’s increasingly difficult to find: time away from everything.

A chance to put your phone away, breathe fresh Highland air and walk through vast open landscapes.

Have conversations with people you might never otherwise meet and spend a week doing something that challenges you physically and rewards you mentally.

A Team Behind You
You’re not simply given a route and sent on your way. Our team will be there throughout the adventure to provide guidance, assistance and support before and during the trip.

There will be four highly trained members of our team, including trained walk leaders and first aiders, supporting the trip.

You can also join our preparation sessions before the trip, ask questions and get help getting ready.

The Journey
7 Days Along the West Highland Way
From the starting point in Milngavie, you’ll journey north through woodland, countryside, lochside paths, dramatic glens and some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Scotland before finishing in Fort William, beneath Ben Nevis.

Day 1 – Milngavie → Drymen
12 miles / 19 km

Your adventure begins in Milngavie as you set off along the southern section of the West Highland Way.

Enjoy a scenic and relatively gentle introduction to the trail as you move through woodland and open countryside, including the peaceful surroundings of Mugdock Country Park. We will be camping tonight!

Day 2 – Drymen → Rowardennan
15 miles / 24 km

Today brings one of the route’s first major highlights: Conic Hill.

The climb is rewarded with spectacular panoramic views and your first unforgettable sight of Loch Lomond. From the summit, descend towards the loch before continuing along the route to Rowardennan.

A day of beautiful scenery, changing landscapes and one of the most memorable viewpoints on the entire trail. We will be in a modern private hostel in small rooms of just our group.

Day 3 – Rowardennan → Inverarnan
14 miles / 22.5 km

Today you’ll follow the eastern shoreline of Loch Lomond.

This is a more rugged and adventurous section of the trail, with uneven terrain and challenging lochside paths. Take your time, enjoy the scenery, have a dip and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of the loch.

The dramatic landscapes and tranquil waters make the effort worthwhile. We will be camping tonight!

Day 4 – Inverarnan → Tyndrum
12 miles / 19 km

Leave Loch Lomond behind and follow the beautiful Glen Falloch through woodland and open countryside.

As you travel north, the landscape begins to change. The mountains become more dramatic and the Highlands begin to reveal themselves.

And you’ll start to get a real sense that you’re travelling deep into Scotland’s wilderness. We will be staying in modern camping pods.

Day 5 – Tyndrum → Kingshouse
19 miles / 30.5 km

One of the biggest days of the adventure.

At 19 miles, this is a challenging day, but it’s also one of the most spectacular.

Pass the historic Bridge of Orchy before crossing wide, open moorland surrounded by magnificent Highland mountains.

This is Scotland at its wildest.

The length of the day makes reaching Kingshouse feel like a real achievement. We will be staying in modern camping pods.

Day 6 – Kingshouse → Kinlochleven
9 miles / 14.5 km

Today you’ll tackle one of the West Highland Way’s most famous sections: the Devil’s Staircase. From the high point, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views across Glen Coe and the surrounding mountains.

Then it’s downhill towards Kinlochleven, nestled beside Loch Leven. A shorter day that gives you time to enjoy the scenery and appreciate just how far you’ve travelled. We will be in a modern private hostel in small rooms of just our group.

Day 7 – Kinlochleven → Fort William
15 miles / 24 km

The final day!

Your journey takes you through peaceful woodland and dramatic Highland landscapes as you make your way towards Fort William.

And eventually, after approximately 96 miles of walking, you’ll complete the West Highland Way.

The Journey Beyond The Miles
There are so many reasons people choose to walk the West Highland Way.

Be it the incredible views, the achievement of completing one of the world’s most famous long-distance trails, the trail buddies you’ll meet, the loch dips or the endless, ever-changing scenery. It’s also about getting away from modern life, returning to a simpler time: no work, no notifications, no responsibilities other than to walk.

The finish line is only part of the story.
Somewhere between Milngavie and Fort William, through tired legs, mountain views, unexpected conversations and moments when you have to dig deep, something changes.

You’ll arrive at the finish with more than just 96 miles behind you.

Everything is Organised For You
We know that organising a long-distance walking holiday can be complicated.

Where are you staying?
What happens to your luggage?
What route should you take?
What should you pack?
What happens if the weather changes?
Where do you eat?
What happens if you need help?
We’ve taken care of the important logistics so you can concentrate on enjoying the experience.

Your trip includes:
Accommodation from Day 1–6.
Breakfasts
Packed lunches
Snacks for the trail
Self-guided walking itinerary
Detailed route planning
Trip support throughout your adventure
Four highly trained team members on the trip
Luggage transfers between accommodation
Safety/support vehicle
Pre-trip preparation and guidance
Support Before You Even Reach Scotland
Your adventure doesn’t start on Day 1. We want you to feel prepared and confident before you arrive.

Online Preparation Calls
We’ll hold multiple Zoom preparation calls in the lead up to the trip.

These are an opportunity to:

Ask questions
Meet some of the team
Get to know other members of the group
Talk through the route
Understand what to expect
Discuss footwear and equipment
Get advice on preparing for the mileage
You don’t have to attend every call – they’re there for you if you’d like the extra support.

Kit Packing & Preparation
We’ll also offer kit packing sessions to help you work out what you actually need to take.

Our aim is simple: Don’t carry more than you need.

We’ll help you understand what is essential, what is useful and what you can leave at home.

Ongoing Support
From booking through to the finish line, you’ll have access to assistance and guidance from our team. If you’re unsure about something, ask us.

We’d much rather answer a question before the trip than have you worrying about it on the trail.

Safety & Support On The Trail
Your safety is incredibly important to us.

Our trip is supported by four highly trained team members, including trained walk leaders and first aiders. We will also have a support/safety vehicle available where access is possible, depending on the roads and location of the trail.

The vehicle is there primarily to provide assistance where needed, particularly in the event of illness, injury or circumstances where you are unable to safely continue walking.

Please note that the West Highland Way is a remote long-distance trail, and there are sections where vehicle access is not possible.

Our support vehicle should therefore not be considered a taxi service or a guaranteed way of ending your day’s walk early.

We’ll always do our best to assist where reasonably possible and appropriate.

Food Along The Way
Walking 12–19 miles a day requires fuel. That’s why your trip includes:

Breakfast
Start each day with breakfast included. We want you to fuel correctly.

Lunch
We’ll provide lunches for your walking days so you have food ready to take with you on the trail.

Snacks
You’ll also receive snacks to help keep your energy levels up throughout the day.

Dinner
Evenings are yours and we will advise about these too.

Dinner is not included, giving you the freedom to choose where and what you’d like to eat.

We’ll also show you how to use the mini camping stoves provided for the trip, where appropriate, so you’ll understand how to prepare food safely when required.
