They hit it off with Stuart, who invited them to join the band. The rest as they say is history.------------The word Legend is used by many but the word Legendary has been given to Mark by his Peers. As well as being the foundation and backbone beat behind Big Country, Mark has held centre stage on the drum throne behind Eric Clapton, Midge Ure, The Cult, Procol Harum, Bruce Foxton and may more. He has sat and performed beside Roger Taylor of Queen and Phil Collins of Genesis at the Princes Trust Concert. So strange that someone I had never met could have such a profound effect on me....Then to last night, I have to admit to being a little sceptical, could this band do justice to the man and his music?The answer is a resounding yes.Simon's voice lent itself so well without trying to emulate the man himself. What a voice!Ken's playing was sublime, the musicianship was second to none, worth the journey alone, and their solo spots were incredible.For me it was Mark, and his reflections of Stuart, that made the night so special, the emotion in his voice and on his face as he recounted his memories and spoke so lovingly and respectfully of his friend.Thank you so much to everyone involved for putting this together.
