Mindfulness Meditation - Sat 10:30am to 11:37am - FREE 67 min Class in honour of Friday's Mandela Day
This meditation practice will take place at the Prana Love Yoga studio in Tableview, Cape Town.
This class will include a 45 minutes seated meditation practice. Should seated for that duration be unmanageable for you or if you prefer to do the meditation in another posture (e.g. lying down or standing) this is totally fine.
The meditation is mostly unguided, so it is an opportunity to be with ourselves and explore what arises in the moment.
The word "practice" is important as there is no such thing as a perfect meditation and there are no wrongs or rights. So don't worry if you don't practice meditation or if you are thinking you "won't do it right".
There is also no "doing" ... only being ... with curiosity and lots of kindness.
We are simply wanting to learn how to become a little more aware of the present moment .. how the body is feeling .. what instincts or gut feels do we notice .. what thought patterns tend to repeat themselves.
Why do we practice this?
If we become a little more skilled at paying attention to the present moment and start to recognise patterns ... some of which perhaps do us or others harm, we can then overtime, start to offer different healthier responses.
We are also, over time, able to use the meditation techniques during times of stress or when we are feeling overwhelmed so that the impact of the situation is not so derailing.
Come and sit still with us so that we can become healthier and more at peace.
Mindfulness Meditation is a secular practice without any religious alignment. Therefore this practice can only enhance your spiritual journey.
