This intermediate training is designed for CCAATA Practitioners who are ready to move beyond foundational knowledge and into deeper, process-oriented clinical work. Participants will further integrate the CCAATA model while developing clarity, confidence, and ethical depth in their professional practice.

🐾 Training Overview

Dates: June 27–29, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 30 hours
• 3 days in-person
• 6 hours adjunct e-learning & assigned readings
• Two 90-minute group consultation meetings (dates/times TBD)

Investment: $1600 + GST

🎯 PURPOSE

This training supports practitioners in deepening their understanding of the CCAATA model through reflective learning, experiential practice, and clinical application. Emphasis is placed on professional identity, therapeutic process, and adapting practice to meet the complex mental health needs of children.

✨ LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Integrate and demonstrate applied knowledge of CCAATA concepts and principles
• Create an in-depth Professional Practice Plan
• Learn advanced strategies to support positive mental health outcomes in children, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, social skills, and group therapy
• Explore specific mental health concerns and thoughtfully adapt practice approaches
• Engage in supported practice sessions with cohort members
• Develop a clear personal Scope of Practice and Professional Development Plan
• Apply learning through a variety of case studies
• Learn positive, ethical training methods for both equines and canines within therapeutic work

✅ Prerequisites

• Completion of CCAATA Fundamentals Training
OR
• A minimum of 10 hours in another animal-assisted therapy modality
