Come spend the day with us at Folk Tree Lodge in Bragg Creek for forest air, slow meals, time amongst the willows, and an afternoon with our hands in the willow.

YOUR DAY

12 PM — Plant-based lunch
1 PM — Willow walk + stewardship workshop
2 PM — Weave a Willow Gathering Tray
6:30 PM — Dinner
7:30 PM — Fire, weather permitting

After lunch, we’ll head out amongst the wild willows of Folk Tree and spend some time with the plants before they become materials. We’ll learn how to identify willow, coppice for basketry, harvest with care, and begin looking for your own wild willow patches.

Then we’ll gather in the quonset for an afternoon of weaving. You’ll make a small gathering tray from wild willow using a simple jig, with all tools and materials provided.

This is a beginner-friendly day. No previous basketry experience is needed.

Your day includes the willow walk and workshop, all weaving instruction and materials, and two nourishing plant-based meals prepared by Roni.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Youth 12+ are welcome with a participating caregiver. Please register both participants.

Tickets are non-refundable, but may be transferred to a friend. Pre-registration is required.
