Come to the 22nd annual Nutmeg Dulcimer Festival - Friday-Saturday, Oct. 17-18. This year's featured artists are some of the most popular most loved dulcimer teachers and performers in the country:
AUBREY ATWATER, mountain dulcimer, has a well-earned reputation for her beautiful renditions of folk songs and her strong personal connection to Jean Ritchie, clog dancing, and more. We're thrilled to have her at Nutmeg for the first time!
BUTCH ROSS, mountain dulcimer, does everything from traditional tunes to classic rock to original songs to multi-instrument looping - sometimes in highly creative arrangements that stretch the limits of the dulcimer.
KEN KOLODNER & MARY LYNN MICHAL, hammered dulcimers. Ken has toured extensively in the US and abroad, and has shared the stage with luminaries such as John McCutcheon and Doc Watson. He founded the popular week-long Sandbridge Hammered Dulcimer Retreats, which he and Mary Lynn lead. Mary Lynn comes from a background in symphonic French horn and music education and teaches nearly 100 private students.
Plus instructors Sasha Bogdanowitsch, Carolyn Brodginski, Cliff Cole, Kayte Devlin, Sam Edelston, Ron Ewing, Gerry Heinrich, Lori Keddell, Jody Marshall, Dave Neiman, Dwain Wilder, Carol Walker
2 main concerts ... plus more than 40 workshops on mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimer (and a few non-dulcimer workshops), a Dulcimer Orchestra performance, our third-ever Open Mic, and more ... in a beautiful church on a New England town green in Milford, Connecticut. Convenient to Interstates 95 and 91, and the Merritt/Wilbur Cross Parkway. Our 22nd year. Full details are available at www.NutmegDulcimer.com
