About Rudy

Born in Detroit in 1948, Rudy discovered his love for art, cars, and motorcycles at an early age. What began in his parents' garage grew into a nationally recognized career in custom painting and pinstriping.

Known professionally as "Dr. Ru," Rudy hand-striped more than 400 Chrysler Prowlers and was honored by Chrysler at the 2001 SEMA Show in Las Vegas for his extraordinary craftsmanship.

Beyond his remarkable talent, Rudy will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy lives on through every brushstroke, every friendship, and every life he touched.

- [John A Pomroy | 2026-08-26 00:08:21] Dr. Ru has been stripping my cars for 20 years. The last thing he did was pin-stripe the original wheels of my 1950 Willys CJ3A. He told me they were not pin-striped until showed him a ad for the CJ2A. He then said, bring me the wheels.
