Dopo dieci anni di attività e album acclamati come Every Bad e Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder to the Sky, lo scorso 15 gennaio i Porridge Radio hanno comunicato ufficialmente la decisione del loro scioglimento. In concomitanza con l'annuncio, la band ha annunciato l'uscita del loro ultimo EP, The Machine Starts to Sing, previsto per il 21 febbraio 2025. La frontwoman Dana Margolin ha dichiarato: "Questa è l'ultima nuova musica dei Porridge Radio e segna la fine della band e significano molto per noi. Siamo entusiasti che le ascoltiate. Questa band è stata la nostra vita, siamo una famiglia ora. Questi saranno i nostri ultimi concerti. Grazie mille a tutti per averci ascoltato."
