Con uscite come “Dying of Thirst”, “MF Doom Suite”, “Harlem to Havana” e “cook/swing/work/relax”, il trio fonde hard bop, hip-hop e soul moderno, rendendo omaggio alle radici del jazz.

Lars Gotrich di NPR Music ha descritto la loro musica come “una spinta ai confini tra hard bop e hip-hop“, cogliendo il loro approccio audace e rivoluzionario. Ogni membro porta con sé una voce distintiva: il bassista e compositore Sebastian Rios, un pupillo di Ron Carter, è il pilastro del sound del gruppo; il sassofonista e cantante Abdias Armenteros è il membro più giovane della Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra; e il batterista TJ Reddick si è esibito con Chick Corea, Jon Batiste e Wynton Marsalis.

Il trio si è esibito in importanti sale da concerto, tra cui il Jazz at Lincoln Center, il Birdland e il Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club, e in festival da Newport a Montreal.
