KRIS RUHS. LABYRINTH

In questa installazione, Kris Ruhs offre con sottile consapevolezza un modo per rallentare l'impulso intenso verso la velocità e la precisione che pervade il nostro mondo.
Una volta entrati, il labirinto diventa un passaggio: dal cubo tridimensionale del mondo misurabile verso le dimensioni instabili del quantico e del macro, da percorrere con attenzione, attraverso l'osservazione minuziosa dei processi che ci circondano.
Nel vedere la luce attraversare l'opera e nel percepire il nostro movimento al suo interno, siamo invitati a rallentare, a sostare, a osservare le trasformazioni. Un rallentamento che conduce naturalmente a un altro rallentamento ancora: quello del movimento stesso, del tempo.

Costruito con 143 pannelli di ferro forgiato a mano, il labirinto genera un ambiente unico, un luogo in cui ritirarsi con serenità dalla spinta incessante e accelerata della vita contemporanea, per contemplare il flusso continuo di energia nel quale viviamo, ci muoviamo ed esistiamo. La mostra si dispiega come uno spazio di respiro, un territorio in cui materia, gesto e tempo convergono. Il labirinto diventa ritmo; il ritmo diventa un modo di essere, e l'essere, infine, si manifesta come un silenzioso atto di resistenza. Qui non c'è una fine, né un risultato da raggiungere. Il labirinto afferma semplicemente che l'atto di attraversare lo spazio con attenzione ci permette di creare il nostro tempo e il nostro spazio, e una nuova relazione con entrambi.

Kris Ruhs, in this construction, slyly offers a way to master the intense drive for speed and precision that is now sweeping the world.
Once entered, the labyrinth offers us a way to move through the world's three-dimensional cube into the slippery new dimensions of quantum and macro with grace and style through observing in detail the processes around you. The chaotic swirls of the natural patterns of our environment are held in piace by the cube of our new sciences. As we see the light passing through the structure, and our own movement through it, we are drawn to slow down and observe these shifts which will naturally lead to a slowing down of the movement itself, and time.

Constructed of 143 panels of hand-forged iron, the labyrinth is constructed to create a unique environment in which to gently withdraw from the particle push of present day living by seeing the endless swirl of energy in which we live, and move, and have our being. This exhibition unfolds as a breathing space, a territory where matter, gesture, and time converge. The labyrinth becomes a rhythm; the rhythm becomes a way of being; and being, finally, becomes a quiet act of resistance. There is no end here, no result required. The labyrinth simply insists that the process of moving through our space with care and observation will allow us to create our own time and space and our new relationship with it.
