Il 27 ottobre 2026, Blue Note Milano ospiterà il debutto e la prima assoluta di un progetto straordinario, inserito nel cartellone dell’undicesima edizione di JAZZMI.

Una Doppia Celebrazione.

“Celebrate 100” è un viaggio musicale che unisce, reimmagina e attualizza i grandi successi di due pilastri della musica d’autore, del jazz e del blues americano: Oscar Brown Jr. e Mose Allison, entrambi nati nell’autunno del 1926.

Guidato dal carisma di Nick The Nightfly, il quintetto racconterà e interpreterà la poesia ritmica e lo swing impegnato di Oscar Brown Jr. (autore di pietre miliari come “Work Song” e “Dat Dere”) e il blues d’autore e satirico del pianista del Mississippi Mose Allison (firma di classici come “Parchman Farm” e “Young Man Blues”). Due geni uniti dalla stessa graffiante ironia e da un forte impegno sociale, per un concerto dal groove travolgente.

Special Guest: Ulf Wakenius

Ad arricchire la serata ci sarà il chitarrista jazz di fama mondiale Ulf Wakenius. Acclamato da leggende come Pat Metheny e John McLaughlin per il suo groove unico e il suo tocco lirico. Wakenius ha occupato dal 1997 al 2007 lo storico posto nel leggendario Oscar Peterson Quartet (ereditato da Joe Pass), apice di una carriera internazionale che lo ha visto collaborare con icone del calibro di Herbie Hancock e Ray Brown.
