The music will be specifically curated to support the inspiration of movement, in addition to having a sacred, safe container complete with beginner and seasoned dancers alike. No experience is necessary, and we welcome—and even celebrate—those who have always felt the call and show up! We observe with curiosity as opposed to judgment, we turn off our conversational voices, unplug from devices, show up as our most authentic, sober selves, and let the music move us. We will be dancing on the sacred earth. You may wear shoes or sandals as you feel comfortable; however, you are encouraged to connect your body to the roots of the earth by dancing barefoot. In the case of inclement weather, there is an indoor yoga space we can use. Schedule: 6:00 – Arrival time & mingling. Explore the land. 6:30 – Opening Circle to open a safe container for the dance. 6:45 – 75-minute Ecstatic Dance Wave outdoors. You may explore the manicured path through the woods that border the dance floor at any time before or during the dance. 8:00 – Closing Circle. Location: The Bea Hive* Milan, MI *Full address provided with the liability consent form Parking: Please park across the street on the grass in neat, close rows next to the other vehicles. Flow props, bubbles, hula hoops, drums, percussion instruments, and flowy scarves are all welcome and encouraged. All are welcome, including children. This is a sober event. We encourage the use of botanical-based bug spray, and please bring a mat or towel to sit on if needed. Should you absolutely need a DEET-based bug spray, please walk out to the road to apply it.
