SHP IL-Oak Forest Delivery Help
Help Kids Get the Beds They Need Sleep in Heavenly Peace Oak Forest is always looking for people who want to pitch in and help. Right now we are looking for help with bed deliveries. After we’ve completed building the beds, our volunteers deliver them to the families in need. These situations are pretty sensitive, so we only use a few volunteers for deliveries. Deliveries usually take between and hour and two hours with travel. Any children looking to help (12-18) must be accompanied by an adult.
Purpose
Once you have attended one of our bed builds and helped build the beds, now it is time to go on a bed delivery to see the smile you can put on a kids face with the bed you made. It is life changing!
Role
Just so you can be prepared, set up can be a little loud. We assemble the beds with power tools. We will bring everything needed, just show up ready to help. Some homes may be dirty, so we recommend wearing older clothes so you don't ruin anything. SHP shirts are preferred (available online at
https://store.shpbeds.org). We usually meet at our storage (St. Stephen's church) at 14710 S. Kildare Ave, Midlothian at scheduled time, load up and head out. You can follow to the home or jump in with others if there is room.
