This course is designed as progressive series for those interested in learning casino and rueda de casino! We will start from the very beginning, so no prior casino experience is required. We do recommend some prior dance experience, in any style of dance.
Casino (sometimes called Cuban salsa) is known for its circular patterns, energetic body movements, and Afro-Cuban influences. It’s danced in pairs (casino) or in a large group circle (rueda de casino) where a caller (cantante) directs synchronized partner swaps and intricate moves.
*The course will be structured so that each dancer will learn both the lead and follow role.
**If you have prior casino experience, you may drop in for a single class without purchasing the entire class package. You must receive prior approval from the instructors to be considered for this single class option.
