Adult Spelling Bee

This Adult Spelling Bee features a team-based competition where groups of 2-6 participants compete through six progressive rounds. Teams advance based on a points system, with the top performers moving through elimination rounds until two finalist teams compete head-to-head for the championship.

Team Structure:

• Teams consist of 2-6 people working collaboratively.

• Teams use whiteboards to write answers during most rounds.

• One designated speller represents the team during the Individual Speller Round.

• Top two teams advance to the final championship round after five preliminary rounds.

Essential Rules:

• No smartphones or electronic aids permitted during competition.

• No assistance from audience members allowed.

• Teams may request word definitions, part of speech, language of origin, and example sentences (except during Lightning Round).

• Immediate disqualification for teams caught using illegal aids or soliciting outside help.

• Final round continues with unlimited words until one team spells correctly while the other fails.
