Participants in the program can earn prizes for attending library programs and reading great books. Once they complete the program their name will go into a drawing to win a bike. The Reading program will begin at 10am and end at 12pm with a lunch following.

Midland County Public Libraries partners with West Texas Food Bank to provide free summer meals for kids age 18 and younger at the downtown library, 301 W. Missouri Ave. Grab and go lunches will available from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday in the children’s activity room. No registration is required.

Made possible in 2020 by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), Library Lunches aims to encourage summer reading, lifelong literacy, and learning. In addition to grab-and-go lunches, families will receive free books to take home, information about other community resources, and craft supplies.
